Monday, 9 July

9.00am–12.00pm

PORTRAIT ON A PLATE with local artist Tricia Stedman.  Everyone enjoys being creative, and there will no limit when it comes to this workshop. Create your own version of an Archibald portrait painting on a plate but and in our case, we will all be winners. You will be working with colour and contrasts and will gain experience and develop skills in drawing portraits. Use your favourite piece to create an artwork that can be hung on the wall when you go home.  Cost: $50.00 

BATTLE SQUAD NERF WAR. Grab your most decked out blaster (Nerf gun & bullets: limited number of blasters available on the day) and come ready to hit the battle field with the crew from Battle Squad Perth. You will work in teams where the goal will be to defeat the other team whilst playing a range of games. All players are to agree upon the rules before starting their epic battle. May the best Nerf battler win! Safety glasses provided.  Cost: $40.00

REINDEER CAKE WORKSHOP with Lyn from My Delicious. Feel like you’re being cheated when the rest of the world bunkers down indoors celebrating a cold Christmas whilst we’re sweltering in heat with the air con blasting? Well, we say you can now in fact have your cake and eat it too by making this cute Reindeer cake! So come and enjoy this “Christmas in July” inspired workshop. No previous experience necessary, bring along an apron and be prepared for an afternoon of fun. Cost: $50.00

INDOOR ROCK CLIMBING & ABSEILING with Adventure Out. Learn rock climbing and abseiling in a safe and comfortable environment. Experience the thrill of taking that step backwards! Experienced Instructors from Adventure Out will provide all the supervision in this thrill seeking activity. Cost:  $45.00

 

Tuesday, 10 July

9.00am – 12.00pm

ROVING KIN VILLAGE – Hut Building & Wilderness Awareness Games. Join Educated by Nature for a morning of adventure outdoors building bush huts and playing Wilderness Awareness Games. Building shelters connects people with a sense of identity and place. Learning simple knot tying skills and cooperating with others, participants will build cubbies, huts, shelters….let your imagination run wild. Throughout the morning we will also engage with nature through stories, stillness, observation and energetic games. Wilderness Awareness Games are designed to activate our senses and connect us with natureCost $70.00

UNICORN CAKE WORKSHOP with Lyn from My Delicious. Unicorn cakes ARE the thing! It’s just not a party without a unicorn cake and so this is your chance to create the ultimate cake.  Your cake will be your empty canvas to put your own stamp on it by coming up with your own style with sparkly colours. Cost: $50.00.

1.00pm – 4.00pm

UNICORN PAINTING. A step by step guided workshop with the Pickled Paintbrush.  Have you a passion for painting?  Have you a passion for Unicorns?  Then come and create your very own Unicorn masterpiece in this step by step guided workshop in this “Unicorn kind of day”. All art materials will be supplied and will be guided by Gabrielle from the Pickled Paintbrush until your masterpiece is complete.  All levels of art experience welcome. Cost: $55.00

NATURAL DISASTERS WORKSHOP with Science 2 Kids . Participants will be given a brief interactive presentation prior to the activities to provide participants with some basic knowledge and science behind the activities. An interactive rock display is provided, allowing participants to discover the huge variety of rocks on our earth. In this super hands-on 3 hour natural disaster workshop, participants will make fondant earth lollipops (Plate Tectonics), design, build and test a seismometer, make a lava cake, simulate a Tsunami, investigate a landslide, simulate a meteorite impact and SO MUCH MORE! Cost: $70.00

MINECRAFT CAMP with MINDBUZZ  (Ages 9 -14). Minecraft camps are designed to be exciting engaging and a safe and fun place to make friends and learn new skills. Students learn server commands which are the building blocks of coding and advanced computing. All participants receive a camper lanyard, a 20-page workbook and one month access to the safe server following the camp so participants can continue playing with their new friends. Students are welcome to bring own mouse (one will be provided but sometimes participants have their own awesome gaming mouses) and if they like to listen to the game music, they can bring headphones.  Book early for this workshop for children of ALL Minecraft skill levels. Cost: $80.00 

 

Wednesday, 11 July

9.00am – 12.00pm

TOUCH FOOTBALL with Touch Football WA coaches. Touch football is an exciting sport that is highly accessible and inclusive.  This workshop will provide participants with the opportunity to develop an array of skills. The core values of this sport include leadership, integrity, professionalism, diversity and excellence. Participants will be constantly on the move, either through walking, running at different speeds, jumping or stepping. Touch football wasn’t invented –  it was just something that was ad-libbed by people running around parks and grown to what is it today.  Cost $30.00

1.00pm – 4.00pm 

GIANT COOKIES WORKSHOP with with Lyn from My Delicious. Receive step-by-step instructions to make two delicious giant cookies which you can then bake & decorate at home with your family and friends. You will make a “part pizza, part cookie – which really is a Pizookie! ” and an oversized giant cookie which you could add ice-cream to, chocolate syrup and sprinkles!  These cookies will warm you up and feed a crowd. Cost: $50.00

PARKOUR. Parkour is an attitude and training method for movement through any environment at speed. The concept is to overcome all physical and mental obstacles in your path by using your body and mind to run, climb, jump and vault. Perth Parkour will teach you the basics of Parkour and will promote a positive understanding and awareness. This youth parkour workshop is open to participants of all skill levels, beginners are welcome. Cost: $40.00

MONSTER “PLUSH” TOY WORKSHOP. All ages and levels welcome.  In Level 1 (suitable for ages 9 – 17), participants will be making a bright coloured monster toy with simple detail. Participants will use recycled scraps of fabric, create a design, be doing some simple sewing, looking at different types of material and how best to use them, apply the features and stuff their toy. For those a bit more advanced (ages 12 – 17), there is a more realistic monster using plush quality fur to be made out of recycled materials. Participants will also learn model making to create the features for their toy. Cost: $75.00

 

Thursday, 12 July

DELVE INTO DADA ART. In this half day workshop participants will learn about its origins, significance and the effect it has on art today. Create your own 21st Century ‘DaDa’ masterpiece using clay (self-hardening) collage and sculptural elements, panel board, glue, acrylic paint and other collage material selection to create your own DaDa sculptural art piece. Cost: $50.00

BARISTA MASTERCLASS with Michael Snadden (ages 13-17). Flat white, latte, cappuccino? Do you want a part time job in a café? Join this half day workshop as Michael guides you to learn or freshen up your skills making classic espresso coffee production. Gain the skills and knowledge needed to prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages and be prepared for that café or restaurant job. Learn how to operate a commercial espresso machine. All ingredients and equipment are provided. A Certificate of Completion for your CV will be presented at the conclusion of this workshop. Cost: $60.00

ARTY BRELLAS FANTASTIQUE with Tricia Stedman. Participants will look at creative fantasy characters and creatures from art and literature as inspiration to create their own mythical creatures & patterns. These ideas will be used to help you create your own fantasy Arty Brella. You will be using Tricia’s luscious smorgasbord of paint to create the characters & patterns on the Brellas and then we will embellish with feathers, diamante` and other fantasy decorative elements. Come and make your own wonderful ‘brella’ creation these holidays. Cost: $50.00

FUTSAL WORKSHOP hosted by Pro Futsal Bibra Lake.  Come and be inspired and coached by a former Columbian professional futsal player Nestor Fonseca, who has played professionally for both Columbia and France. Nestor is now the Head Coach of Cambio Cumbre Futsal Club in WA. So why Pro Futsal? Because they are the only full time dedicated Futstal Centre in WA, they also host the highest level of Futsal leagues in WA and are recognised as the only official provider of Futsal in WA by Football West (the governing body of Football and Futsal (FIFA). This is one fast paced workshop that you won’t want to miss! Cost: $30.00

CHRISTMAS IN JULY CHOCOLATE HOUSE with with Lyn from My Delicious. This workshop is sure to keep any chocoholic happy. You will be making something so yummy to eat – A Christmas inspired Chocolate House and you won’t even have to wait for that special time of year to do it. The idea about making this Chocolate House is about having fun!  We know it is also going to look amazing when decorated with all your favourite lollies. Cost: $50.00

Full Day (9.00am – 3.00pm)

SCARY SPECIAL EFFECTS MAKE UP FOR MOVIES. It is Friday the 13th and so be prepared to learn how to make your own Zombie effects. Marian a professional Make-Up artist with over 25 years experience, specialising in horror make up,  will demonstrate some wicked tricks to transform yourself into the Living Dead using special effects make up!  Cost: $75.00

HANDS ON PODCAST WORKSHOP with Toni from Pet Rock Media & Blake Williams from Mix 94.5 (Ages 12 – 17). By the end of this workshop, it is intended that participants will learn how to go from an idea to a fully functioning show. This workshop includes; Basic overview of podcasts, What is podcasting and how does it work? How can you make it a potential revenue stream? What makes a good podcast? What are the essential recording techniques? And most important, how do you get your podcast onto iTunes (or similar)?  Tell the world your story, explore your passions and build your own podcast community!  Cost: $90.00

REFUND POLICY: Whilst every effort is made to run workshops as publicised, on occasion changes to workshop, location and presenter of a workshop may need to be made.  All Saints’ College reserves the right to make these changes.  If you are unable to attend, notice must be given five days before the commencement of program to receive a refund.  If a workshop is cancelled by All Saints’ College, we will refund your money in full.

 

Code Camp

The College has partnered with Code Camp to lead an exciting program of workshops for students. Code Camp have already taught more than 35,000 students in Australia, teaching them important skills such as computational thinking, logic, creativity, user experience, app development and game building in a fun and engaging way.

These July School Holidays, Code Camp is facilitating four workshops all All Saints’ College:

  • Little League – 2 days of fun where our littlest coders make the first small, but important steps to becoming creators of technology, not just consumers.
  • Spark –3 days of creativity, design, fun and coding. Our most popular Code Camp where every child aged 7 and above starts their coding journey.
  • Ignite – For those who have conquered Spark or who already have a coding experience elsewhere. They’ll build their own top-down adventure game!
  • Blast 3D – Brand new for 2018, your kids will immerse themselves in a 3D world of their creation! Unlock the next level of their coding adventure at Code Camp Blast 3D.
