All Saints’ signs historic partnership with Beijing Academy

ALL SAINTS’ COLLEGE PARTNERS WITH UNIQUE BEIJING ACADEMY TO PROMOTE INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIVE INNOVATION 

All Saints’ College (ASC) has signed a three year ‘sister school agreement’ with one of China’s foremost educational institutions, Beijing Academy (BA), becoming the Academy’s only Australian partner school.

With both schools’ emphasis on innovation and entrepreneurship, in addition to the usual language and cultural exchanges for students and staff the partnership will provide for students the opportunity for international collaboration on innovative and entrepreneurial projects.

“Beijing Academy is not only unique in China – it is internationally renowned as a globally-engaged hub for collaboration and learning,” said All Saints’ College Principal, Belinda Provis. “Of particular interest is its work on exploring 21st century educational models as this aligns with the work of ASC’s Beyond Boundaries Institute”.

The Beyond Boundaries Institute (BBI) was launched at All Saints’ this year. Dedicated to innovation and leadership in educational practices, it is committed to exploring and implementing at ASC new and flexible structures for learning that recognise, and are focused on, the diverse interests, abilities, passions, skills and futures of the College’s students.

“As part of the work of our BBI, All Saints’ students are encouraged to develop an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset to develop not just new products and services, but also new solutions to real-world problems,” said Ms Provis. “To be able to partner on some of these with students across the world in Beijing opens for our students a whole world of exciting opportunities.”

US-based Professor Yong Zhao – internationally-renowned educational transformer and Patron of ASC’s Beyond Boundaries Institute – was pleased to help facilitate the partnership.

“I congratulate All Saints’ College and Beijing Academy on their sister school agreement,” said Professor Zhao. “Both schools share the same aspiration to prepare globally competent, creative and entrepreneurial students.”
